At Mineral Resources Development Company (MRDC), sustainability drives commitment to empowering communities, safeguarding natural resources, and fostering long-term development in Papua New Guinea.
We integrate environmental stewardship, economic growth, and social responsibility into initiatives such as the Education Subsidy Program, which provides access to quality education, and sustainability projects focused on community development and resource conservation to ensure long-term benefits for future generations.
MRDC collaborates with boards such as GR-PNGLNG Plant, PRK, PRG, and PRM to implement critical education infrastructure projects in communities across Papua New Guinea. These projects include constructing double classrooms and staff housing for primary, community, and high schools in areas like Boera, Kutubu, Kikori, Gobe, Simberigi, Homa, and Paua.
Funded under the Community Infrastructure Trust Funds (CITF), these initiatives align with the Oil and Gas Act (No. 49 of 1998), which allocates 30% of royalties and equity dividends from oil, gas, and mining projects into CITF Trust accounts. The Managing Director of MRDC serves as the trustee of these funds, ensuring compliance with guidelines established by the Department of Client Services.
Beyond infrastructure, MRDC extends its support to various communities, health, education, sports, and church programs nationwide, reflecting a broader commitment to social development
