Education Subsidy Program

The 2025 Education Subsidy Program provides tuition subsidies to students in mining, gas, and petroleum project areas. MRDC administers the program, ensuring a fair and transparent selection process that adheres to board-approved policies and regulations. Since 2022, the program has supported 8,848 students.  Below are 3 stories highlighting the impact of this program.

Tuition Subsidy Eligibility by Region

Students from the following regions under the trustee companies are eligible for the tuition subsidy.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Direct Beneficiary

Be a direct beneficiary (as defined by project MOAs/Tribe of origin/ILG or Clan).

2. Completed Grade 12

Complete Grade 12 with a GPA of 2.5 or above for undergraduate programs.

3. Submit Completed Application Form

Submit a fully completed application form before the closing date.

4. Short Essay Questions

Answer short essay questions (assessed)

5. Endorsements

Obtain endorsements from recognised endorsers.

6. DHERST-sanctioned Tertiary

Be an existing student or accepted to a DHERST-sanctioned tertiary institution (list on page 3-4)

7. Attach Supporting Documents

Attach a copy of the offer letter, fee structure, and other supporting documents.

8. Minimum entry-level qualification

Answer short essay questions (assessed)
