The MRDC holds participating equity interests, on behalf of project area landowners and respective provincial governments, in a number of mining projects in the country. They include the Ok Tedi Mine, the Porgera Gold Mine, and the Ramu Nickel Mine. MRDC’s mandate to manage these interests is through an agreement with each Trustee companies, which operate as subsidiaries.
Mineral Resources Development Company Limited (MRDC) is registered under the Companies Act 1997 and is wholly owned by the State. Since 1975, MRDC has proudly managed landowner and provincial equity in Papua New Guinea’s resource sector — building wealth, empowering communities, and shaping a legacy of progress.
